Experiencing ASCEND with a group of friends or family is one of the best ways to introduce yourself to the wonderful activity of climbing! Parties and groups at ASCEND come in all shapes and sizes, so no matter what you have in mind, we can likely make it happen. Whether it’s a bachelorette party, company team-building, or a college orientation ASCEND prefers to treat each event uniquely.

PURCHASING YOUR PARTY

ADD THE NUMBER OF ANTICIPATED BIRTHDAY PARTICIPANTS USING THE BIRTHDAY PARTICIPANT BOX BELOW. THIS WILL ADJUST THE PRICE IN THE CART FOR THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS YOU WILL HAVE. PRICING VARIES DEPENDING ON GROUP SIZE AND COMES IN BLOCKS OF 1-5, 6-10, OR 11-15 PARTICIPANTS. 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • All parties and groups include:
    • all rental equipment
    • ample space to host your group's decorations, belongings, food, beverage (no alcohol), limited refrigerator and freezer space
    • two hours of professional instruction, education, safety, and of course... good times!
  • Standard maximum number of active participants (does not include spectators, like guardians or chaperones):
    • Pittsburgh = 15
  • Pricing varies depending on group size, and comes in blocks of 1-5, 6-10, or 11-15.
  • Additional participants above your pricing block will be $100 per participant. Bringing more than just a couple extra people on the day of your event is strongly discouraged, because your event will be short-staffed, which may result in certain activities being modified.
  • There are no age restrictions to climb at ASCEND, however children 13 and under must be directly supervised by attentive chaperones at a 1:3 ratio. But if you book a group with us, we've got the supervision covered
  • A signed waiver is required for anyone entering the facility, even adults, younger children, or babies who are purely spectating. Participants 17 and under must have their waiver completed by a legal guardian.

ARRIVAL

We kindly request that the ENTIRE group shows up at least 15 minutes before your scheduled reservation. This will allow for ample time to get checked in and go through our mandatory orientation without cutting into CLIMBING TIME! Party hosts can arrive 30 miuntes early to set-up and decorate. If you plan to arrive earlier than 30 minutes before your scheduled reservation, please email events@ascendclimbing.com, to give our staff ample time to prepare.

DEPARTURE

At the end of your scheduled reservation, your dedicated staff members will no longer be assisting you. If some participants would like to stay and climb, that’s more than okay, but if they are 13 and under they must be directly supervised by an adult. Please note that yoga and fitness classes are not included. If you are interested in a yoga or fitness class for your group, please email events@ascendclimbing.com.

PAYMENT

Payment in full is required at the time of booking. This payment includes a non-refundable $50 fee. In the event that additional guests arrive on the day of the event above and beyond the maximum number allowed for the pricing tier that you've selected, we ask that you settle up with us during your event or upon departure. Also, please note that if fewer guests show than you’ve paid for, we are not able to refund your deposit or reduce the remaining balance, as we’ve added staff to accommodate the original booking. Tipping is certainly not required, but if our event staff wows you and you want to show them some extra love, we won't hold you back!

EXPECTATIONS

Here’s what we expect from you and what you can expect from us:

  • You are welcome to bring food and beverages
  • We can supply: disposable plates, cutlery, and cups, limited use of our refrigerator/freezer to store food and beverage (no alcohol allowed), tables and chairs for gathering, storing belongings, eating, etc.
  • Rental equipment (shoes, chalk, and harness) is included
  • 2 hours of dedicated ASCEND Staff (1 for every 5 guests) to facilitate the good times
  • Access to climbing activities such as rope-climbing, bouldering, and slacklining. Other fun and engaging activities may be offered from time to time, depending on the group.
  • Groups will wear ASCEND wristbands to let our staff know who the VIPs are!
  • Groups will be split into smaller teams and break off into rotating activities.
  • You can choose when to break for food and hanging out... at the beginning, middle, or end. We find it best to eat and hang out at the end of your reservation time, but it is ultimately up to you!
  • We do not supply decorations, food, or beverage, but if you’d like us to help out, we can certainly try to work that service into your package.
