Sport Climbing 1 - Indoor Basics

Learn the basics of sport climbing and sport belaying in ASCEND lead climbing facilities. Students will focus on lead belaying with commonly used assisted-braking belay devices, how to properly clip quickdraws, and how to take lead falls.

Goals: To provide introductory information, hands on practice, and lead climbing confidence.

Prerequisites:

• ASCEND Green Belay Tag

• Redpoint 5.10-

• Comfortably climb 5.9

• Participants must be 14 years or older.

CANCELLATION + MISSED CLASS POLICY

• Cancel more than 7 days before your booking: You will receive a 100% refund to your original payment method.

• Cancel between 48 hours and 7 days before your booking: You will receive 100% of your payment back as store credit.

• Cancel less than 48 hours before your booking: No refund or store credit will be issued.

• Cancel within four (4) hours of class start time: Issued $5 No Show Fee

Any participant who misses a yoga, fitness, climbing, or slackline class, or cancels within four (4) hours of the class start time will be issued a $5 No Show Fee, to be placed directly into the ASCEND Equity + Outreach Fund. This fee will be invoiced to your account and must be paid prior to using the facility in the future. The goal is an attempt to curb habits, protect valuable space for others, and to raise a little money for this valuable fund -- NOT to charge our beloved members fees as punishment. This policy is an attempt to be as fair as possible to our entire community. If you need to cancel your reservation, please do so through your portal account or call the front desk.
